Frit can be classified as: transparent frit glaze, milky white frit glaze, lead-containing frit glaze, and lead-free frit glaze. During the melting process, it can have granular or flaky appearances depending on the manufacturing method. Because frit glaze is insoluble, it is highly safe and can be used alone or added to general raw material glazes as a flux.
