Potash feldspar
Potash feldspar, also known as orthoclase, has the chemical formula K2O·Al2O3·6SiO2. It is a natural aluminosilicate mineral and the core flux mineral raw material in the ceramic industry. This product is crushed, ground and sieved to 200 mesh, with controllable impurities, low iron content and uniform & stable particle size. Potash feldspar contains potassium oxide and alumina. It exerts a fluxing effect at high temperatures and reduces the firing temperature of ceramic bodies and glazes.
It has a wide melting range, and its high-temperature melt fluidity is lower than that of sodium feldspar. Its melting temperature is approximately 1150~1200℃, featuring high melt viscosity, which can reduce the risk of warpage and deformation of finished products during firing.
Within China's advanced ceramic material systems, 200-mesh potassium feldspar powder features excellent dispersibility and high ball-milling efficiency. Its iron oxide content is strictly controlled to reliably maintain the fired whiteness of white glazes and tableware ceramics and resist yellowing during firing.
For ceramic applications in China, it is widely adopted as a base ingredient in formulations for matte glazes, semi-matte glazes, artistic glazes and frits. It can effectively improve the texture and wear resistance of glaze surfaces.
